Are
you curious as to what type
of roofing procedure your
installation will require?
My Charlotte Roofing
Installation takes you
through the entire re-roof
procedure. We offer
a"Re-Roof" and a "Tear-Off"
procedure.

Roofing Re-Roof

view the Re-Roof
process.
This
term applies to a standard
roofing practice of
actually overlaying a new
layer of shingles over your
existing roof
system/shingles (asphalt
shingles only). The
Re-Roofing process is a
cost effective approach to
maintaining and upgrading
your existing roof
system.
"Does my roof
qualify?"
If
your existing charlotte
roofing is your
"original roof" of less
than 20 years, has only
that single shingle layer,
and the wood decking is in
good condition, you
may be able to Re-Roof
over your existing
shingles.
Please
Note: the
condition of the existing
roof system will
strongly determine the
ability of a Re-Roof. Your
GARC Charlotte Roofing
Specialist will assist you
with determining your
roofing procedure. Contrary
to popular misinformation
, the Re-Roof process
does not
void manufacturer's
warranties.

Tear-Off
view the Tear-Off
process.
This
term applies to a standard
roofing practice of
removing the existing
shingle layers (1-3 layers)
down to the original wood
decking. After the
shingles are removed,
the original wood deck is
inspected for potential
leaks or vulnerable
locations. Following
the wood inspection, new
felt paper/roof system
materials and new
shingles are
installed. This
process essentially brings
the roof back to its "new
construction"
condition.
"Do I require a
Tear-Off?"
If
your existing Charlotte
roofing is over 20+ years
old, has multiple layers of
shingles, and/or is in very
poor existing condition
(shows typical warning
signs), your best solution
would be to Tear-Off your
old roof
system.
Please
Note: the Tear-Off
procedure does require
other construction
stipulations (i.e.
dumpster/waste
removal). Your
GARC Charlotte Roofing
Specialist will assist you
with determining your
roofing
procedure.
*The “Re-Roof”
and “Tear-Off” roofing
installations are subject
to a host of variables that
only your roofing
specialist should decipher.
Please keep in mind that
every roof system
installation (“Re-Roof” or
“Tear-Off”) is treated
individually and may
require details specific to
that particular
roof.
