Policy
How will you control dust and handle the mess associated with
my job?
Although Charlotte remodeling can
be very dusty and dirty, we take measures to reduce the
mess while your project is under construction. We install
plastic dust barriers and drop cloths to isolate the
construction area as much as possible. We also cover any
HVAC registers in the work areas. The bottom line is we
are very sensitive about dust control and all of us are
very conscientious. We will do what we can to make sure
your experience is as pleasant as possible. At no time is
the house left unattended while work is in process.
Either Project Manager or Restoration Specilist are on
site unless homeowner has agreed to other arrangments.
Sub-contractors and employees are never left unattended
without PM or Restoration Specialist present. We treat
your home as if it were ours
period.
Should I consider moving out of my house
during the
remodel?
Charlotte Remodeling can be a
little inconvenient and messy, especially when it comes
to interior living spaces like kitchens and bathrooms.
However, most of our projects are completed while our
clients occupy their homes. Our clients find our team of
tradesmen to be very courteous, conscientious and
accommodating. But, if your project is extensive, it may
become more practical for you to temporarily move out.
You can discuss your specific situation with Charlotte
Remodeling specialist prior to scheduling your
project.
Do you guarantee your
prices?
The price we quote is guaranteed
as long as the scope of work and specifications don't
change. If you request different materials, exceed your
allowances or additional work is needed, the price may
change. You will be informed if and whenever this
occurs.
In order to know whether something
has changed requires that every task and item be clearly
spelled out in writing so there is a clear record of the
agreement. MasterCraft Building & Charlotte
Remodeling provides very detailed proposals
so you will know exactly what was included and what
wasn't.
Should I get other estimates before
proceeding?
Getting other estimates is a
personal decision. It's very easy to compare prices but
very difficult to compare scopes of work and
specifications and even more difficult to compare service
and craftsmanship. All too often people are tempted by a
lower price and live to regret it when they don't get the
job they expected or worse, things start falling apart.
Our advice has always been - hire a contractor you trust
and feel confident will do a professional job for
you.
Will I be able to select the actual products for my
project?
Yes. All products like doors,
hardware, trim, windows, cabinets, plumbing, electrical
fixtures, flooring, paint colors and all specialty items,
etc., with our guidance. These are normally chosen to
closely match the existing items in your home or specific
design tastes.
Will MasterCraft Building & Charlotte Remodeling take care
of securing permits or will that be left up to
me?
The MasterCraft Building & Charlotte
Remodeling production team is responsible
for getting permits and scheduling inspections so the
homeowner isn't inconvenienced.
Will your company take care of the trash and debris
disposal?
The MasterCraft
Building & Charlotte Remodeling
personnel working at the residence, unless the homeowner
states otherwise, handle all trash and debris
removal.
How long should a charlotte remodeling project take to
complete?
Lots of factors enter into the
time it takes to complete a project. Obviously, the scope
of the project has the most to do with time. A small
bathroom remodel won't take as long as a room addition.
Some things such as custom cabinets and countertops, or
made to size shower doors cannot be ordered in advance.
This will delay the completion of the job. Weather and
the building permit process can also cause delays. Your
Project Superintendent will keep you informed of any
schedule changes.
How are payments made during the remodeling
process?
The MasterCraft
Building & Charlotte Remodeling
contract will have a payment schedule. The schedule lists
the amount of payments, and at what point during
construction they are due.
Do you warranty the work that you
do?
We warranty all of the work we do
in writing for a period of 1 year. Should you happen to
have a problem with a component of your project, upon
notification, we will respond as soon as possible to
correct any warranty problem that you may
have.
